Watch the presidential inauguration in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza, January 20

Barack Obama

Though you may not be able to travel to Washington D.C. for the presidential inauguration on January 20, you can still watch this historic event among a celebratory crowd.

From 7 a.m. – noon, a large-screen simulcast of President Barack Obama’s inauguration will be presented in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza.

Bring your friends — or make some new ones — and watch former Senator Obama take the oath of office and give his inaugural address as the 44th president of the United States.

What better place in San Francisco to watch this landmark moment in American history than in front of City Hall?

There is no admission to the event, however the event organizers ask participants to bring socks or underwear (new, with tags attached) as a charitable donation, which will be distributed to the city’s homeless.
