The Marin Headlands Hostel is set in a U.S. National Park less than 5 miles north of San Francisco, just across the Golden Gate Bridge. Housed in the historic homes of former Fort Barry officers, the hostel provides immediate access to a wealth of outdoor activities, including miles of hiking and biking trails, beaches, and dense forest.

Guest rooms

Accommodations are in shared, gender-specific or co-ed dorm rooms, or in private rooms. Bathrooms are shared.

Guests may choose to stay in:

Shared dorm rooms (average 4 to 9 beds per room)
Private single/double room
Private family room (up to 2 adults and 2 children)

Kitchen and dining

The hostel has two self-service kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals. Both kitchens are fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and ample refrigerator/freezer space. Pots and pans, dishes, and utensils are also provided.

Guests also have access to two indoor dining rooms and a shaded picnic area with tables and barbecue.

Stock up on supplies before arriving at the hostel, as there are no stores or restaurants within the Marin Headlands. The nearest shopping and dining options are 5 miles away, in the town of Sausalito.
