You’re Invited: Book release party at Point Montara Lighthouse (May 22)

Join us on May 22 to celebrate the launch of JoAnn Semones’ newest book, Hard Luck Coast: The Perilous Reefs of Point Montara.

The book release party is being held in conjunction with National Maritime Day, and will feature readings and a book signing by the author, shipwreck renderings by artist Galen Wolf, and special guests Bob Hanssen and Dan Mahoney, descendents of Point Montara’s lighthouse keepers.

Guests can stroll the lighthouse grounds, view the art, and see displays of shipwrecks and lighthouse keeper artifacts.

Hard Luck Coast tells the stories of shipwrecks, disasters, and near-disasters at historic Point Montara Lighthouse. It’s Semones’ second book featuring a lighthouse-turned-Hostelling International hostel. Her first book, Shipwrecks, Scalawags, and Scavengers, featured the Pigeon Point Lighthouse.
