Call for entries: World Nomads Video Documentary Scholarship

World Nomads is seeking applicants for a Video Documentary Scholarship, which offers one college student a one-week trip to Kenya where s/he will work with a professional filmmaker to create a video documentary on the theme of community project travel. The winner will also receive a travel video pack from Lonely Planet, which includes a Sony HDR-HC5 video camera.

The scholarship recipient will travel to the Kiwanje Ndege Primary School in the Laikipia region of Kenya. In addition to shooting a short documentary, s/he assist in a four-day project involving refurbishment of classrooms and installation of a water tank and guttering system to allow the school to harness rainwater. The final days of the trip will be spent on safari in the Samburu National Park. After the trip, the scholarship recipient will edit the documentary and upload it for viewing on LonelyPlanet.tv.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be a film/video or communications student at a recognized educational institution.
