Hostel Features
Housed in historic lighthouse keepers' quarters, the
Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel is perched on a cliff above the Pacific, 50
miles south of San Francisco.
Where else can you relax in a hot tub with panoramic ocean views, then fall asleep gazing up at one of the tallest lighthouses in America? The hostel is also a convenient base for visiting nearby beaches and tidepools, protected wetlands and redwood forests, and the elephant seals at Año Nuevo State Reserve.
Guest rooms
Accommodations are in shared, gender-specific dorm rooms, or in private rooms. Bathrooms are shared.
Guests may choose to stay in:
- Shared dorm rooms (6 beds per room)
- Private single/double room
- Private family room

The hostel offers several areas for guests to relax and enjoy, including:
- Comfortable lounges with board games and library
- Outdoor patio with picnic tables and barbecue
- Clifftop hot tub
- Historic fog signal building with wood stove
- Fire pit and Adirondack chairs
- Oceanfront boardwalk and Mel's Lane walking trail
- Beach access at Whaler's Cove
Kitchen and dining
The hostel has three self-service kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals. Each kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and ample refrigerator/freezer space. Pots and pans, dishes, and utensils are also provided.
Each kitchen has a dining area attached. When the weather is nice, guests may also opt for the outdoor patio with picnic tables and barbecue.
