“Etienne!” screens at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse and Marin Headlands hostels (June 19-20)
Posted by admin on May 11, 2009

On June 19-20, join us for two special screenings of Etienne!, an independent feature film about "the little things in life." The movie follows a young man named Richard and his best friend, a hamster named Etienne, as they embark on the trip of a lifetime.
When Richard learns that Etienne has terminal cancer and euthanasia is recommended, he decides to take Etienne on a bicycle road trip, to give him the chance to venture outside of his caged world. The film was locally produced and shot on location throughout California. If you’ve ever wanted to visit a movie set, then you’re in luck — along their journey, Richard and Etienne make stops at the Marin Headlands Hostel and the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel, both of which can be seen in the film. The pair also visit other locations along the California coast, including Mount Tamalpais, Henry Cowell State Park, and the Davenport Cliffs.
Writer-director Jeff Mizushima, lead actor Richard Vallejos, and producer Giacun Caduff will be in attendance at the screenings. Jeff Mizushima’s intention for the film was to tell this "tiny" story as if it were made in a different era. No sex, violence, or drugs — just a small and personable story about the relationship between humans and their animal companions.
There are two screenings scheduled for Etienne! Seating is limited, so please RSVP in advance.
