Full Moon Night Hike

Celebrate the full moon with a night hike! We'll gather in front of the wood stove at 7:30 p.m., then caravan to the Klamath River Overlook. The hikers will trek a short, but steep, 1/2 mile trail to the overlook for a sight to behold: the mighty Klamath River squeezing its way through a sandbar and into the Pacific Ocean. Non-hikers are also welcome to travel as far as the Overlook parking lot, then snuggle into your jackets and watch the sea.

The Klamath River is the second-longest river in California, and the home of the Yurok Tribe, the state's largest indigenous group. If you're into environmental justice, then you may know that the Klamath's health is making headlines. Visit the North Coast Environmental Center to learn more, or see what Wikipedia has to say.
