Groups at the Sacramento Hostel

Quote from Moon Travel Guides

The Sacramento Hostel welcomes groups of all types, and offers both overnight accommodations and meeting space for conferences, retreats, reunions, and other events.

Housed in a beautifully restored Gold Rush-era mansion on Sacramento's Merchant Row, the hostel is a favorite both for private events, and with groups who have business at the State Capitol, just a few blocks away.

The hostel is also popular with school and youth groups visiting the nearby historic sites, or taking advantage of the tailored intercultural programming provided by our Hostel Adventure programs staff.

Group accommodations

The hostel provides both shared and private rooms in the 1885 Llewellyn Williams mansion, on a tree-lined street in the heart of downtown Sacramento.

Groups of 8 or more can be accommodated overnight. Maximum hostel occupancy is 80 people.

Group dining

Groups may choose to bring their own food to prepare, or have it delivered by a local grocery store or caterer.

The hostel has a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and a large dining room (complete with chandelier!). For outdoor dining, a patio with umbrella tables and barbecue is available.

Private meeting space

The hostel has a meeting room which seats 30 (15 conference-style) and has a TV, DVD player, and chalkboard. This room is available for rent to groups who need a private meeting space.

Meeting room rentals must be arranged in advance, at the same time that you reserve your group's overnight accommodations. (Please note that all other common areas in the hostel are shared with all guests, and are not available for private use by groups, unless you are renting the entire facility.)

Youth programs

The Sacramento Hostel offers tailored intercultural programming for a wide range of schools, scout troops, and other groups, including World Travel 101, Cultural Kitchen, the Community Walls mural project, and Girl Scouts badge work. For details, please see the Programs section of the Golden Gate Council website.
