School and Youth Groups

School and youth groups of all ages are frequent guests at our hostels, from academic and sports groups to scouting troops to spiritual and religious groups.

In addition to comfortable, affordable accommodations and facilities, HI-USA Golden Gate Council offers a wide range of programs and activities that can be customized to fit your group's itinerary or curriculum.

  • The Hostel Adventure Program introduces young people to the natural world, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship through experiential outdoor programming.
  • Tailored intercultural programming is also available for youth and student groups, including World Travel 101, Cultural Kitchen, and the Community Walls mural project.
  • Girl Scouts and Hostelling International have long been partners in providing programming and overnight trips for troops, and have even developed a special hostelling badge.
